Shri
Shri Prakash
has
taken over as General Manager, Northern Railway
from Shri Vinoo N. Mathur on 1.06.07. An officer
of the 1972 batch of Indian Railway Traffic
Service, Shri Shri Prakash, who was until recently
Advisor (Infrastructure), Railway Board, has been
involved in policy initiatives like the Dedicated
Freight Corridors and Public Private Partnership
projects to enhance the infrastructure development
of Indian Railways.
Spanning a long and illustrious career, Shri Shri
Prakash has served in various capacities at
various places over Indian Railways. Some of the
notable posts held by him are Divisional Railway
Manager, Dhanbad, Executive Director (Statistics &
Economics), Executive Director and Team Leader of
Project for Development of Long Range Decision
Support System for IR and Executive Director,
Traffic Transportation in Railway Board. In
addition, he has served as Chief Safety Officer,
Chief Transport Planning Manager and Chief
Administrative Officer (Freight Operation
Information System) during various spells at
Northern Railway. He is also visiting Senior
Fellow, The Energy Research Institute (TERI), New
Delhi.
Shri Shri Prakash holds a M.Sc. Degree in
Mathematics and is an MBA.
